Our young people's minds, thoughts, and emotions are of critical importance. If the enemy were to successfully attack this area, it would have devastating implications for generations to come. Research shows that depression among teenagers has increased by 300% in the past 50 years; that a process of desensitization has increased by 40% in the past ten years, mainly due to excessive exposure to violence on screens; that the incidence of self-cutting has increased to epidemic proportions within a 10-year period; that suicide statistics among teenagers have skyrocketed in the past couple of years. These are just a few of the red lights and cries of distress that this course focuses on, intending to alert parents, teachers, pastors, counsellors, social workers, etc., and also equipping them for this massive challenge.
