Everywhere we look around us (and also within ourselves) we see ‘father wounds’ and ‘father hunger’. Pain from the past regarding our relationships with our fathers is often the reason why many Christians struggle with a distorted image of God and consequently find it very difficult to experience God the Father intimately and close. To experience a healthy image of Him, we will therefore first have to get rid of all the broken ‘father filters’ that most of us have carried with us into adult life. In this course, this theme comes under the spotlight and finally a pastoral model is presented according to which the unprocessed pain of the past can be dealt with.
